A video of a visually impaired man hawking plastic containers to earn a living has sparked mixed reactions on social media.
The clip, shared by X user @Lusemaouth_Mc, shows the man balancing plastic containers of various sizes on his head and shoulders while navigating the streets with the aid of a walking stick.
According to the user, the man is a familiar sight along the Oluyole Extension Estate in Ibadan, particularly on market days. He expressed his concern over the man’s struggle and called for support.
“Here is a blind man trying to make ends meet by hawking big bowls along my place of work. I see him almost every market day. I wish he could get help,” he captioned the video.
The post has since generated a wave of reactions, with some commending the man’s resilience, while others criticized the lack of support for people with disabilities in society.
An X user @Asake_Alagbo reacted, “Omoh! Even in his condition, he’s still trying to work! It is well.”
Another user, @peace_igho added, “Men will always find a way to provide for their family.”
