Popular Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has once again sparked controversy after publicly declaring himself a “hardcore traditionalist.” The actor, who has been in the headlines for his personal and spiritual beliefs, took to social media to share his commitment to African traditional religion, stating that he will never abandon the ways of his forefathers.
In his post, Yul expressed disappointment over Africans neglecting their indigenous religion due to fear of societal judgment. He wrote:
“Because of fear of what people will say, Africans are running away from their powerful African religion, their originality. Abomination!!! I will NEVER abandon the ways of my forefathers. It is built on truth, transparency, and fairness. I’m a Hardcore Traditionalist.”
He further referred to himself with powerful titles such as “ISI MMILI JI OFOR” (Head of the Waters with Authority), “EZEDIKE 1” (Mighty King), “ALUSI NA EJE UKA” (The Deity that Goes to Church), and “OKALA MMADU OKALA MMUO” (One Who Controls Both the Physical and Spiritual Realms).
