Nigerian model and Mr. Nigeria, Ugo Nwokolo, has spoken out regarding his controversial statement on The Honest Bunch podcast, where he claimed that “poor girls turn me on.”
The statement, which went viral and sparked backlash on social media, has now been clarified by the model, who alleges that podcast host Nedu Wazobia pressured and manipulated him into making the remark.
In a recent revelation, Ugo stated that Nedu is obsessed with getting views, often at the expense of his guests. He further disclosed that he paid to be featured on the podcast and was influenced into mentioning VDM on the podcast.
“He (Nedu) is all about creating controversy for engagement. He knows how to manipulate conversations to get what he wants,” Ugo alleged.
The viral statement had drawn criticism from netizens, with many accusing him of classism and insensitivity. However, with this clarification, some fans are now questioning the tactics employed by the Honest Bunch podcast in generating buzz-worthy content.
Neither Nedu nor the podcast team has responded to these claims as of now.
