Nigerian fashion designer Veekee James has shared an emotional story about her past relationship struggles before meeting her husband. Speaking candidly, Veekee revealed that she ended a relationship over her choice to abstain from premarital sex, a decision that her then-boyfriend couldn’t accept. Later, in another relationship, she encountered similar challenges, despite leading her partner to Christ. She disclosed that he reintroduced her to premarital sex, going against her beliefs.
Veekee also revealed that she faced severe emotional and physical abuse in the relationship. She described how she invested her own money into their joint business, was responsible for many household duties, and was the primary financial supporter. Despite her efforts, her ex-boyfriend was unfaithful and manipulated, taking advantage of her generosity.
Reflecting on the difficult experience, Veekee explained that the combination of abuse and the compromise of her values ultimately led her to leave.
