According to reports from popular Instagram blogger Cutie Juls, sources very close to Mercy Chinwo have confirmed that her legal dispute with VDM is currently in court and has no connection to the arrest or any action by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The report clarified that VDM had been invited by the EFCC on six different occasions. These invitations, some of which were sent via WhatsApp and later through his official email, were reportedly ignored. In fact, VDM allegedly blocked the EFCC numbers shortly after receiving the messages.

However, new details have emerged that it was not the EFCC that initially arrested VDM but operatives from the Department of State Services (DSS) last Friday. Following the arrest, the EFCC reportedly made a formal request to take over custody of VDM due to ongoing financial investigations involving him.

One key investigation ties VDM to a woman currently under probe for money laundering. Security agencies reportedly have access to tracked conversations and transactions involving VDM and this woman, which forms the basis of the EFCC’s interest.

It was also revealed that some of the financial cases were made public by VDM himself, as he had previously challenged the EFCC online, claiming he had evidence and daring them to arrest him.

Despite this, it appears the EFCC’s involvement is secondary compared to the DSS, whose tracking of VDM’s phone conversations allegedly provided substantial evidence leading to his arrest.

Blogger Cutie Juls urged activist lawyer Barrister Deji Adeyanju to focus more on legal action rather than social media commentary, stating, “Barrister Deji Adeyanju, please stop the tweets and get to work please!”

This revelation puts to rest the false narrative linking Mercy Chinwo to the arrest, redirecting attention to the more serious national security and financial allegations currently facing VeryDarkMan.
