The legal battle between award-winning gospel artist Mercy Chinwo and her former record label, EeZee Concept, took another turn today as EeZee appeared in court to address allegations of contractual disputes.
Speaking to newsmen after the hearing, EeZee alleged that Mercy Chinwo breached her contract with the label by collecting payments from events independently and refusing to produce her third album, as stipulated in their agreement. He claimed these actions prompted the withholding of her royalties.
“I sent her a mail requesting a meeting to resolve these issues, but she never showed up,” EeZee revealed.
He further accused the EFCC of illegally detaining him, coercing him into writing a statement, and transferring thousands of dollars to Mercy Chinwo. EeZee also disclosed that his personal and company accounts were frozen during the ordeal.
Sharing his side of the story on social media, EeZee wrote:
“This Morning, I appeared in Court. I came to the court today because I have absolutely nothing to hide. My commitment to transparency and integrity remains unwavering.
From the very beginning, I have stood firm in my values of honesty and integrity. Truth will always prevail.”
The case has now been adjourned to February 14th, leaving fans and stakeholders eager for the court’s verdict on the ongoing feud.
