Code for Africa is seeking individuals for the role of Community Manager
The role involves the following specialties:
• The candidates who are granted employment will join Code for Africa’s team as the champions for Code for Africa representative for the CFA DRONE sensors. AFRICA networks are leading the way in the application of drones and sensors for open data collection and mapping, environmental detection in African towns, water and air quality monitoring, and climate change and deforestation monitoring. A group of African drone pilots called africanDRONE uses drone mapping and pictures to promote environmental security and social justice sensors.
• Africa is one of the citizen sciences that thoroughly involves closely monitoring Africa’s challenges, such as air pollution and noise pollution. It also empowers water quality in some of the finest cities in Africa.
You would be required to carry out the following operations:
• Community Manager:
As stated in the title of this job post, you would be required to lead geographically dispersed professional networks. You would also be required to monitor Africa’s drones in different parts of Africa. You would also need to make sure active members are entertained and supported.
• Coordinate:
You would need to organize different events for Africa’s drones. This requires that you organize events both online and offline to promote collaboration between networks.
• Developing Programs Schedule
You would be repaired to identify opportunities between the African drones and sensors. You would create programs that address these needs. These programs should address these needs and partner’s expectations.
• Monitor Projects
As a community manager, you would be required to monitor project-funded projects. This would ensure grant contributions and milestone achievements.
• Stakeholders Engagement
You would be needed to maintain a healthy relationship with higher and lowered stakeholders in the organization. This relationship would include ioT officials and other community members.
• Engage In Mentorship and Training:
As a community manager, you would be engaged in facilitating mentorship and training. You would also be required to drive initiatives for community members. You would also be needed to impact their field of occupation.
• Monitoring and Evaluation
You would also need to evaluate the benefits of some programs and engagement strategies. An aspect of this is to monitor feedback and work on loopholes.
• Reporting and Evaluation
The next responsibility you would be assigned to do is to produce reports on community activities and milestones. You would also need to communicate with the stakeholders regarding the progress of reporting.
• Planning
Community members are charged with the responsibility of developing periodic plans for the organization. You would need to communicate changes in the organization to community members.
Requirements For The Role Of A Community Manager
These are the following requirements for this role:
• A minimum of 3 years experience as a community manager. You would need to maintain focus on the Community of Practice.
• You would need to have strong experience in coordinating local and international events.
• You would need to possess strong project management skills. In addition, community managers must have proven experience in managing multiple projects
• Community managers would need to have an understanding of different applications such as IoT applications and others.
• You would need to possess some abilities in maintaining social justice amongst others
• You need to be fluent in spoken English
•You would need to think critically and solve problems.
