Nollywood legend Jim Iyke has now admitted that his fight with Uche Maduagwu was a publicity stunt, just as Nigerians suspected.
He explained that the fight was staged in order to promote his new film.
In an interview with Chude Jideonwo, the thespian revealed how he made Nigerians believe the much publicized fight was real after Uche questioned his source of wealth on social media.
He added that he understood Nigerians’ desire for gossip and bad news, so he wanted to capitalize on it to promote his movie, which follows a similar storyline.
Jim Iyke said, “I am too strategic to jeopardize the success of my film by actually getting into a real fight with Uche Maduagwu.
“My team came up with the plan and Uche Maduagwu was contacted and paid well for it.”
The actor, who also stated that the social media world is not real, went on to say that his new movie caught fire as soon as a scandal erupted.
