EKSU unveils logo for 40th anniversary

It is with great delight that I preside over the unveiling of the 40th Anniversary Logo of our University, which, invariably signals the commencement of activities towards the grand finale of the Anniversary/Convocation Ceremonies scheduled to hold in March, 2022. The essence of the unveiling is to draw the awareness of staff, students and the general public to the upcoming celebrations of the Foundation’s day of our beloved University.

Moreover, today’s ceremony is to intimate all the stakeholders with the programmes lined-up for the celebration of our University foundation’s day. I consider myself lucky as providence has made it possible for me to witness the 30th year anniversary of our great University in 2012, as a Professor in the University and today, by the grace of God, I am presiding over the unveiling of the 40th Anniversary Logo, as the Vice Chancellor.

The unveiling of the 40th Anniversary Logo is an epic event, that had never been witnessed in the history of the University, and in a bid towards ensuring successful celebrations, I have set up an Anniversary Planning Committee, under the chairmanship of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Development), Prof. Wale Olajide, FPAN.

Our University, no doubt, will play host to number of very distinguished personalities in the course of the Anniversary ceremonies, to share with us, the joy of the 40th Anniversary of the establishment of the University, as well as bless the University, in whatever area they feel they could intervene, with a view to adding value to the University. At this juncture, permit me to appreciate the doggedness and commitments of our Founding Fathers (dead and alive) who had laboured tirelessly to conceive, establish, nurture and sustain our University right from the days of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ondo State University, University of Ado-Ekiti and currently Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti.

Special mention and recognition should go to one of our fathers in person of Chief Alex Olu Ajayi, the Odoba of Ado-Ekiti, who voluntarily donated his property to the University as its first administrative office, in Ado-Ekiti far back in 1982.

I am glad that, Baba Alex Ajayi will definitely be happier seeing his baby institution turning forty (40) in less than three months time from now. Let me inform you that arrangements are ongoing to have a documentary package on the University, right from the inception, detailing information and pictorials for our records. You would agree with me that, this celebration is worth it, going by the impressively outstanding performances of our University in the last forty (40) years amongst the comity of Universities, as well as the unequalled stunning performances of our Alumni across the globe, in their various fields. Hence, I wish to humbly seek your support, encouragement and understanding in making the Anniversary a success in all its ramifications. Ladies and gentlemen, let me affirm that with effect from today, till the end of our celebrations in March 2022, our Anniversary Logo, being unveiled today, shall feature permanently in our official correspondences, including letters, postals, advertisements, jingles etc.

Also, as the logo is being unveiled today, permit me to bring to your notice that a week long activities have been lined up to commemorate the 40th Anniversary and 25th Convocation Ceremonies of the University. Distinguished Ladies and gentlemen, in exercising my powers as the 8th Substantive Vice Chancellor of our dear University; I have the singular honour and pleasure today, to unveil our 40th Anniversary logo signaling the commencement of activities dovetailing to the event proper for peace, unity and progress in the name of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
