Chelsea thrash Southampton 4-0 to climb fourth

Chelsea picked a commanding 4-0 victory over Southampton at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday, moving up to fourth in the Premier League standings.

Christopher Nkunku opened the scoring in the 24th minute, converting a Tosin Adarabioyo header.

The French forward then assisted Pedro Neto, who doubled the lead with a powerful finish.

Levi Colwill added a third just before halftime, heading in from a Neto free kick.

Marc Cucurella sealed the win in the 78th minute, finishing a precise pass from 19-year-old substitute Tyrique George.

Despite late saves from Aaron Ramsdale to deny Enzo Fernandez and Cole Palmer, Southampton slumped to their 22nd defeat of the season, leaving them 13 points adrift of safety.

Chelsea, meanwhile, bolstered their hopes of Champions League qualification.
