- Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, Brymo had said that the Igbos have to organize their Homefront to lead the rest of the country.
- The tweet led to an outcry on social media as many accused him of bigotry and not setting the same standard for politicians from other regions.

The buzz which Brymo’s recent tweet about his idea of the political future of the Igbos generated, has seen him being described as a ‘bigot’ in his Wikipedia profile.
Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, Brymo had said that the Igbos have to organize their homefront to lead the rest of the country.
He added that the safest option for the Igbos at the moment is to vie for the position of Vice President of Nigeria to “test the waters”.
His tweet read;
“Don’t respect my intelligence nor choices… you are trying to not accept resolve… argue more then… pls …. It is not prudent to elect him yet, he may have to vividly organise his home-front to lead rest of us… an Igbo VP first maybe to test the waters with the region is safer!”
The tweet led to an outcry on social media as many accused him of bigotry and not setting the same standard for politicians from other regions.

Igbos have really suffered in Nigeria, the other day it was Atiku who said he’s the stepping stone to a South East Presidency when an Igbo man is clearly on the ballot.
Maybe Brymo is too dull to realize that an Igbo man, Alex Ekueme was VP in 1979. https://t.co/jhs5nTgFoI

Be wary of educated tribal bigots like Brymo. They are very dangerous to the society.
They are blaming Peter Obi for the insecurity in the South East but they aren’t blaming Atiku for the insurgency in the North East.

With tribal bigots like Brymo, Nigeria can never be one. It’s such a shame. What offence did the Igbos ever commit to warrant this level of hate? https://t.co/wFrTEfoft8

As a Yoruba, I feel ashamed with Brymo’s tweet. My igbo brothers I feel the need to apologize on how you’re being treated in this country. Apologies pls. We would move past this bigotry soon and together would chart a common and equal cause of nationhood. E ma binu🙏
