The entertainer, known for his comedic skits and activism, took to social media to share his emotional journey of financial loss, betrayal, and eventual recovery.

In a heartfelt post, Mr. Macaroni disclosed that between 2021 and 2022, he fell victim to a scam and made a failed investment that wiped out all his savings. Despite the devastating loss, he chose to suffer in silence, unwilling to share his troubles with anyone.

 

Sometime around 2021/2022, I was a victim of a scam and simultaneously a failed investment that cost me all I had saved at the time. It shook me deeply, but I told no one about it,” he wrote.

The comedian, who has built a reputation for his generosity and activism, admitted that he attributed his financial recklessness to a belief that he was fulfilling a divine mandate to help others. However, as his debts mounted, he realized the consequences of his decisions.

“Back to my story, I was now in serious debt… but it didn’t stop my recklessness,” he confessed.

The year 2024 became a turning point in his acting career. Two of the films he featured in were screened at international festivals, and his performances in several other projects earned him numerous commendations. However, despite the professional success, he battled immense emotional distress, knowing he owed over half a billion naira.

The last straw was when I was betrayed by someone whom I have always loved as a friend and sister,” he revealed, adding that the betrayal left him completely destabilized.
