Court remands man for allegedly defiling nine-year-old girl in Kaduna.
Ahmed Usman, a bricklayer accused of defiling a nine-year-old girl, has been remanded in a correctional center pending legal counsel, according to a Chief Magistrates’ Court in Kaduna State.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Magistrate Ibrahim Emmanuel did not accept Usman’s plea and instead directed the police to duplicate the case file and send it to the Director of Public Prosecution’s office for legal advice.
Inspector Chidi Leo, the prosecuting officer, informed the court that Usman, who lives in Kawo, Kaduna, committed the crime at his home on December 2, 2021.
According to the prosecutor, Usman enticed the girl into his room and defiled her, and following his arrest, the police charged him with defilement.
Usman’s conduct, he added, was in violation of Section 207 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law of 2017.
The magistrate deferred the case until January 12, 2022., frowning at the high occurrence of rape of minors.
